Help

With top up fees, student loans, bursaries, overdrafts and ever increasing living costs to get your head around keeping track of your money can seem overwhelming. If you do get into difficulty with your finances it's always a good idea to seek help as soon as possible rather than wait until you have no spare cash at all. Below are a few tips which could prove useful.

• Call into the SU and visit Matt Wilson the Vice President Education and Welfare as an initial point of call about where you can go for further help and advice. Email vpres@hope.ac.uk or call 0151 291 3709.

• Many banks now have special student advisors to help guide you through the management of your finances.

• Checkout the NUS website for advice and information about what benefits/extra funding you may be entitled to and how to handle your money.

• The University Student Support Services also offer Financial Support & Advice. Call in to the Markland Building at Hope Park to get more details and speak to an advisor.

•    Also the University has information about extra funding that you may be eligible to receive if your one of the target support groups.  These groups included the single parent and disabled students groups but also it covers third years and QTS/PGCE students.

• Or click here to find out more about the possibility of applying for UNIAID bursaries
