Academic Representation

The Quality Assurance Agency (the higher education equivalent to ofsted) stated that universities must provide students with the opportunity for representation on issues relating to their course. This is why Staff Student Liaison Committees were set up. These are meetings is which representatives from the student body and the department discuss issues relating to the way in which the course is delivered.

Being a student rep is a great achievement because they play an integral role in the education system here by highlighting the possible discrepancies between what students want and what the University provides.

Student reps have the opportunity to have an input into every part of the University, from how courses are delivered and the libraries stocked, to the quality of computing services and catering facilities.

Have a look in this section to find out how Hope SU supports those students who have been elected to represent others and how to get involved.
